About Fitbit
Fitbit, Inc. is an American company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Its products are activity trackers, wireless-enabled wearable technology devices that measure data such as the number of steps walked, heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics involved in fitness. Before October 2007, the company was previously named Healthy Metrics Research, Inc. While these devices appear to increase physical activities, there is little evidence that they improve health outcomes.According to an IDC report published on December 3, 2018, Fitbit is considered the third largest wearable company in shipments as of the third quarter of 2018, behind Xiaomi and Apple. Fitbit reports to have sold more than 100 million devices and have 28 million users. In 2019, Google announced its intention to buy Fitbit for $2.1 billion.

Cyber Monday is a day for great discounts online, this much we know. But more often than not, the best deals on tech items are on the models that have been out a while, had a great run, and are now making way for the latest and greatest. Which is why we were so surprised to see the Fitbit Versa 2—the company’s smartest fitness tracker that was only released this fall—for an even deeper discount today than we saw on Black Friday.

The new low price: $128.99 at Amazon, down from the typical price of $199.95, is an incredible bargain, especially when you consider all it offers. The Versa 2 packs all the smart tracking of the also-great Fitbit Charge 3 fitness band (our top-pick fitness tracker, which is also on sale for $99.95), plus on-board Alexa. This voice activation lets you perform simple web searches, request a weather report, and even control other Alexa-enable devices in your home. Plus, Android phone users can use the voice-to-text functionality to reply to text messages from their wrist (unfortunately, a feature not available with iPhone).

The bottom line: The Versa 2 is a great fitness tracker with just enough smart features to make it feel worthwhile as a smartwatch. This price probably won’t last beyond Cyber Monday, so if you’re in the market for a fitness tracker with smart features, now is the time to buy.
